Located on the hillside of a Brazilian coastline sits the house that had two goals – to not touch the ground and to create an outside platform where topography with 50% slope had provided any flat piece of land. I say goal accomplished.
Designed by SPBR Arquitetos, the Ubatuba II House is a 10m x 10m x 6m prism, detached from the street, where the ground floor is deep enough to hold two enclosed floors with an open space [veranda] underneath, a floor above with kitchen, bedding, bathrooms, & living spaces, and a rooftop for a belvedere entry space. The weekend home also features two smaller volumes hosting a parking space, custodian space, swimming pool, & mechanical space, while the veranda also takes you through a winding garden to the beach.
