Richard Mille + Cyril Kongo + Graffiti Tourbillon

richard mille scout life graffiti tourbillon 1

Richard Mille collabs with graffiti artist Cyril Kongo for a new tourbillon. The RM 68-01 Tourbillon Cyril Kongo is individually hand-painted across 5cm square space [some barely a few mm long] using micro-spray painting tools making each timepiece is a unique work of art. The street art is carefully placed as it needs enough for a visual effect but not too much to throw off the balance of the watch’s movement. The watch is housed in a NTPT carbon case-band with black ceramic bezels. Limited to 30 pieces. Scout Life.

I come from graffiti. All my work originates there. It was my school for painting, I learned in the street. I need to remain in touch with that world while at the same time looking at what’s happening elsewhere. Graffiti is a language with its own codes, a form of writing, whether this be on a gigantic wall, on canvas, or any other surface. I am not a painter bound to a single space, nor to any particular surface. ~Kongo
