1 Peter 3:3-4
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Every year millions of people make changes to themselves to impress people who really wouldn’t appreciate them whether they changed or not. Everyone has a preference of attraction, but when it comes to altering the essence of who you are as a person to satisfy the selfishness of another person, that’s not a preference – that’s greed.
The medieval latin origin of the term transparent means shining through. The dictionary lists the adjective as allowing light to pass through so that objects behind can be distinctly seen; having thoughts, feelings, or motives that are easily perceived.
Every human being on the face of this earth is created with their own DNA strands, own finger prints, own personality, and own creativity. We were created differently to be just that – different. We were meant to be ourself. Genes were created to duplicate traits for reproduction and evolution, but the essence of evolution is change.
I keep my twisted grill, just to show the kids it’s real. We ain’t picture perfect but we worth the pictures still. I got smart, I got rich, and I got b****es still. And they all look like my eyebrows: thick as hell.
Love yourself, girl, or nobody will.

These two concepts – transparency and change are very vital in the evolution of life; even more now than ever. The idea of individuality has become a lost art. A fair amount of people are concerned with not being able to find someone who can live with their true character traits. Let’s call this “pseudo-human” your representative. Unfortunately, if you want the world to accept you as played by your representative, you also have to remind yourself although you gain your praise and credits through your representative, you also respond to the world through your representative because they belong to your representative – not you.
Think of it as someone playing you in a movie about your life. If the person playing you in the movie gets married to the person of your dreams, understand that’s not you in that marriage – it’s the person playing you. And the day you decide to step in for stunts, your spouse will know it.
You were you way before you think you became you. Don’t follow someone else because you like the way their life looks; you have no idea what you can’t see / what they deal with. You’ll never know where your life could end up if you just lived yours making yourself happy. Let every last one of your hues shine through so people can see you for who you really are. This is what truly makes this universe so interesting. Never be ashamed of anything you are, because honestly the main people ridiculing you don’t even have a honest identity knowing who they are in the first place. The people who shy away from you being yourself are not the people you need to include in your life. If they accept all of your self-proclaimed vulnerabilities, they are the epitome of a friend. Be your own starring role in your life’s film. Be the Oscar winner. Be transparent.
