Potential: latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness.
No one in the world lacks potential. Everyone is able to be someone. Everyone was created with the purpose to be someone special; to serve some special need. The only problem is many lack the will and/or the skill to convert that potential into achievement.
Why do we not want to become our potential? Simply because we lack the willingness to take that risk. We’re scared. We feel it isn’t worth it. We would rather be comfortable at level 3 than take the possibility of failing at level 8. Too many things to lose. This all boils down to lacking faith. Faith in our potential. Faith in our future. Faith in our self. Faith in God. We don’t have a guarantee that our potential will come to fruition.
My old head used to tell me never make a bet unless you know you’re going to win. Well, what if I was to tell you if you put 100% into your purposed potential, there’s no way you will fail? But who am I to make a claim on your life? Some random dude with a dope site. Well i’m an all-or-nothing type of guy and a wise baller once said you’ll miss 100% of the shots you never take. Not that you should take every shot you touch the ball – but you have to take the right shots. The shots you were meant to take. Don’t ball-hog. If you put your all into your purpose, God will grant you with whatever was meant for your life. All you have to do is two things:
Thing 1 – Say something. When words are spoken over your life, they give life to what you have spoken. As long as you keep them inside, they never go anywhere. Keep in mind, whether good or bad, whatever you say will affect you and your world around you. Never speak on negative, unless it’s them turning into a positive. Self-correcting talks on the inside give fuel for the outside.
Thing 2 – Do something. Words without works are dead. If you build it, they will come. Out of all the things to worry about when Noah built the ark, God told him he didn’t have to worry about a thing. All he was supposed to do was to say he was going to build it, and build it. Potential chose him. Wisdom directed him. Faith covered him.
Our action is the only thing that brings our words to life. Everything starts with potential. All you have to do is take the first step with faith and your path will be covered. Whether it be your relationship, your career, your health, whatever – go all in; it’s your life; you’re already in it so make the most of it. I promise you, we have more to gain by giving it our all than we have to lose by not giving it our all. Be who you want to be. Be resilient. Be possessed. Be the reality to your own potential.
