Samsung UHD TV

At New York City’s CES this year, Samsung unveiled their HDTV lineup. Amongst the list of newcomers was the 85″ S9 UHD TV and it just hit the markets for sale. “UHD TV??” Yes, Ultra High Definition TV. You really thought you bought the last TV you’ll ever buy because nothing else could get better? Right.

We’ll get to the difference in a minute – let’s talk about the cosmetics, since Samsung is known for pleasing our eyes without a picture even being on the screen. The company calls the stand a timeless gallery frame. The easel-like design could limit some living rooms, so even though the 2.2 audio is built into the stand, of course it’s mountable as well.

For the picture – the UHD beauty carries a Precision Black Pro display technology which trashes any other TV’s contrast ratio and brings the real-life colors home. The set features a quad-core processor for its 4K resolution. “Why is this such a big deal?” Your 1080p TV has a 1,080 resolution… do the math… now multiply that by 85 inches.

For the specs – I mentioned earlier the bionic TV offers 2.2 audio, but its four secret panel speakers output 120W, naturally its a Smart TV so it comes with all the apps & fixins’, Smart Hub, S-Recommendation for voice activated functions [kind of like the Evo Kit‘s built in], and Smart Interaction which uses gestures… yes, the thing has a built-in camera. Oh yeah… 1200 Hz [no typo]. How Scout is that? $39,999
